Our host family has three generations to live together. They kindly provide their services:
– European style breakfast: coffee, tea, fruit juice, fruit, bread, butter, jam, pancakes.
– Traditional meals, aperitifs, bike for the visit, swimming pool, cooking classes… We use the organic products from the house and the village for meals such as: duck, fish, vegetables from the garden…
– Laundry and ironing service at a low price for those who wish.
– Yous can use the computer of the house for free for internet connection and the wireless internet is available in all rooms.
ACTIVITES
During the stay at Năm Hiền cottage, you will have the opportunity to attend many activities: enjoy the pool in the garden of the homestay, learn a cooking class with the family, learn also how take care of the fruit frees, cane fishing in the ponds of the garden, go a bike or walk to meet the people of Chợ Lách.
SWIMMING POOL IN THE GARDEN OF THE HOMESTAY
The swimming pool with the surface of 4*14 meters is in the garden of fruits and bonsaïs. You can enjoy the pool after a long day of visiting or stay a few days to lie down quietly.
COOKING CLASS WITH THE FAMILY
At Năm Hiền cottage, Mme Năm Hiền and her daughter-in-law will invite you to participe a cooking class with a simple lesson. On the menu, spring rolls and ravioli. You will make them yourself, assisted by the family. You will have the opportunity to observe the difference between a Vietnamese cuisine, open on the outside and that of Europe. All the ingredients you will use come from the garden, for a healthy and organic cuisine. The dishes you just made will be served for diner, a friendly and full of exchange. During your stay, you will have the chance to taste the specialty of the family: the duck with coconut milk or any kind of dishes such as soup, “vietnamese crepe”…
CANE FISHING IN THE PONDS OF THE GARDEN
If you have time, fish with the cane in the ponds of the garden after the house of Mr. Năm Hiền. It’s not bad !
WALKING TOUR IN THE HAMEAUX MEET THE LOCAL PEOPLE
You can also walk to meet the local people. During your journey, you will admire the fauna and flora of the Mekong Delta region. Coconuts palms, banana trees, papayas and also mango trees…all this reminds you that you are in a tropical region, far from your country.
BIKE IN THE SURROUNDING CAMPAIGN AND CHỢ LÁCH MARKET
In Chợ Lách, you are also advised to go to visit the local market in the early morning. It consists of two parts: the food market where you will find the different fruits of the region but also a multitude of fish and shellfish. In addition, you will be surprised by the number of rice varieties sold. On the other side of the road is the textile market: clothes, hats, fabrics, you’ll be spoiled for choice, get ready to do business.
